Fanatec ClubSport Shifter SQ V1.5

The ClubSport Shifter SQ V1.5 is a pro-tier eight-gear shifter with switchable H-pattern and sequential modes, connecting via base port or USB; it's widely regarded as the consensus all-rounder for sim racing. It suits drivers who want a single shifter for both manual and sequential cars. On non-Fanatec rigs you'll need the USB adapter, so confirm that before buying.

One unit covers both modes: H-pattern for older cars, and a flick converts it to sequential for everything else. For a single shifter that does both, it's hard to argue with — and it bolts straight onto the Fanatec ecosystem.
Being honest about how much I use it: in iRacing most of what I race is paddle-shifted, so the shifter sits idle a lot of the time. The sequential mode is fine but not as crisp as a dedicated sequential shifter, and the H-pattern gate takes some learning to never miss a gate. It's the right call if you want one box for both; if you only ever H-pattern, a dedicated shifter feels better.
