CPU Coolers

Cooler choice is driven by your CPU's heat output, your case's clearance, and whether you want air or liquid. The dimensions that decide fit are tower height for air coolers and radiator size for AIOs. Low-profile and compact air (Noctua NH-L9i) exists for small cases; mainstream towers (Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE and Phantom Spirit 120 SE, DeepCool AK620, be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5, Noctua NH-U12A) handle most CPUs quietly; and 240/360mm AIOs (Arctic Liquid Freezer III 240/360 and Pro 240, MSI MAG CoreLiquid A13 360) target hotter, higher-core chips or builds where radiator placement frees up airflow.

Match capacity to the CPU. A budget air cooler like the Hyper 212 Black or a 120 SE tower is plenty for mid-range parts, while overclocked or high-core CPUs lean toward a big dual-tower or a 360 AIO. The Digital variants add a readout but don't change cooling class. RAM clearance is a real constraint on tall air coolers, and radiator support is set by your case.

Answer two questions first: how much heat does your CPU actually put out, and what height (air) or radiator size (liquid) does your case accept. Then pick air for simplicity or an AIO for top-end thermals and clearance. Scores reflect sourced specs, not hands-on testing.
